Loved this book. Finally a romance novel with no swear words and no graphic sex! I highly recommend this book to anyone who is turned off trashy romance novels, but likes a good story with a nice ending.

I chose this book because it tells of using natural herbs in the treatment of sickness and healing in a time when rural areas didn't have the availability of doctors, clinics, or hospitals. There is a love relationship that was held at afar due to previous love, marriage. and a family was began with a hidden agenda, that left a broken heart and a shattered family. An abandon baby girl is left on the woman healers porch, who gladly took the baby into her life raising her with not only love, but teaching her healing methods. The girl grew into a beautiful young woman who had firey red hair and Sapphire Blue eyes in a mining town where gold and sapphire stones is the heart and livelyhood of the small town, owned by the man who would be healed by the town's healer. A mining accident brought about the truths and the healing not only of the growing mining town's needs, but a love committed without prejudice.BB

This was not a very good book. The author had the makings of a good book with interesting characters and good dialogue, but she just could not put it together. I usually don't read romantic books, but found the book on a special deal of 99 cent books for Kindle. It was with a variety of books including murder mysteries so I had no idea what I was ordering. But even once I discovered it was a romance, I could have still enjoyed it if it had been well written.

The author missed so many plot opportunities. Meghan easily fell into friendships with with a pregnant mother, a neglected child, a widowed father, and his parents--all without with little or no conflict or plot development. Even the climax to the storyline has little or no development.

I think good romances usually have some misunderstanding between the couple which tears them apart before they get back together at the end for a happily ever after ending. The breakup here was so insignificant it was nonexistent. The entire story was just too weak--I would skip paragraphs just to get to the end faster.

This boxed set is just okay. I was looking forward to it after reading other novels by the author. However, like one previous reviewer mentioned, it reads like soft porn which I guess is okay if that's your thing. However, I was looking forward to more romance and history. I do have to say that the last story in the boxed set, the one featuring Felicite left me disappointed in the extreme. It was incredibly ridiculous that the "hero" of the story is also her rapist, and she goes and freakin falls in love with him. It really left me upset that the author chose to have their relationship develop this way, and worse, that Felicite sees the rape as her due for her imagined wrong-doings in regard to her dad. Like i said, just meh. I'm happy I got this for free while it was still being offered, otherwise I would want my money back

LOVED - well worth the $ - hours of enjoyment were mine!

This is the first of a two part collection. Three books are in this first set and four in the second set. All books are stand alone and share amazing history of Louisiana thru a broad time frame. Fascinating! Also...HOT... The romance and passion and steamy sex is so well blended with the educational aspect of early Louisiana! Do your self a favor and buy both collections. I love this author!

5 STAR ENTERTAINMENT ~ 4 STAR FOR EDITING

This is a valuable collection easily earning 5 stars for entertainment. While the 3 titles share a common genre and writing style, each of the stories are uniquely different. Whether the tale takes you aboard a pirate ship or trips you up in the bayou mud, there is never a dull moment.
Blake creates her characters with completeness and clarity that brings plausibility to her scenes. Dialog and interaction are comfortably believable. It is effortless to conjure the scenarios as the stories unfold. The reader can smell the briny water that is splashed upon the dock or the metallic taste of blood that spills from the sword blade.
There are some editorial annoyances that interrupt the stream of the story, for example the use of quotations when no one is speaking or erroneous word choices. I am sure the author meant "a flurry of movement" that caused Felicite to drop her lamb's puff and not a "FLUFFY" of movement. Still, the stories are exciting and entertaining enough to allow forgiveness for the editorial oversights.
