Bait and Switch Game

The first words out of my mouth when I reached the end of the "New York" book was, "You've got to be sh*tting me!"
To reel you into the story and then not give you an ending is horrid, cheap and a rip off! To me, it's the ol' "Bait and Switch" game - read this one for free... then I'll charge you for the next book so you can read how Matt and Janie got together! Thanks... but no thanks. I won't patronize an author who does this kind of thing.
I like stories that are in a series, but not when you have to go to the next book to read the ending of the first book. Why not finish the first book then have the second book continue on?
I'm glad "New York" was free, because if I had paid for it I would be screaming, "REFUND!" right now.

SOOO Disappointed! Would have been 4 stars, but gets 2 for the NON-ENDING! I get that some people like the cliff-hanging deal, but I agree with a previous reviewer! I am NOT a fan of this new trend and wish the authors would be very upfront about their work! I get that it says this is the first of a "series", but, to me, there is a HUGE difference in a "series" and ONE book that has multiple parts!! (I'm a slow learner, I guess, b/c I had this same discussion with another author last week, but who has time to read all the reviews on a book?) I knew that Harry Potter, Twilight, Shades of Grey and the Millenium Trilogy were continued, and made an informed choice of reading them as they came out - OR wait to read them all at once! I LOVE books that are connected in a series so you get to catch up with previous characters, but please, PLEASE finish a couple's story in ONE book or be VERY clear to tag it as only Part 1! This was an entertaining (albeit unlikely) read, but I feel so jerked around! I don't know if I can trust that the author will finish the story in the next installment or will it be a trilogy or even more?? I have tremendous admiration and respect for those that can create stories, but I'm not sure I'll care enough to find out how this one ends!

The book was great....as far as it went, I really HATE how you get one book and think it's the whole book and get really into it and it stops in the middle leaving you hanging. Then you have to buy another book to get the end of you get it then or do you have to buy another book.
