Not too long but a bit too short

Perhaps implicit in the title ("Handbook") but not clearly obvious, is that this small but costly volume is a distillation of the barely necessary elements required to get by in cardiac CT scanning. It is a highly abbreviated version of the comprehensive textbook edited by the same authors. Its salient advantage (aside from portability) is the summary in "bullet-point" format found at the end of each chapter, a feature absent from the full-length text. Illustrations are relatively sparse but are generally helpful for the novice CTA reader. Given these considerations, this book seems designed for the cardiology fellow newly assigned to an imaging rotation who needs a quick (and maybe covert) reference.
In summary, given the cost and the disadvantages of this synopsis, the better choice is the full-length textbook: explanations are more thorough, illustrations better quality and more copious and its almost equally portable. Optimally, this "handbook" should be implemented as a (much cheaper) iPhone application so it will be really portable, rapidly and conveniently accessed and always available.
